I'm going to paint my hallway. It's the first time ever I'm painting a room, and I thought I'd better do the hallway first, because no one actually stays in there. ;)

The walls look disgusting, and I can't afford to get the painters in, so - I'll have to do it myself. So, when I get home from work this afternoon I'll start putting stuff away and decluttering, and tomorrow I'll do the painting in itself.

*sigh* Ain't my life an interesting one? ;)

Am still not used to getting my salary on the 1st of the month - for 12 years I got it on the 15th, and when I looked up my bank account yesterday I thought there'd been a mistake at first, since I've never had THAT much money at this time of the month. No, there wasn't.

Next week I'm going to pick up my new social security card and all the other paperwork stuff that's attached to my new employment status.

And on the 21st I'm off to another COMENIUS meeting in Rouen. Looking forward to seeing that town once more; the Old Town is really beautiful.

I love painting! IMO it isn't hard to get a really good result if you (1) take time and care (which I know you will) and (2) buy decent paint. My mom has regularly repainted the house every year since I was a child, and when I was old enough to trust I helped her. No house B and I have ever owned has gotten painted but we did it ourselves. I think it's fun, in small projects!

Well, now that I've cleared out the junk, taken the pictures off etc. I keep thinking, wow, what a rathole! It's really awful, about time I did something about it. Not sure I'm going to take a pic. Too embarrassing.

Something I should have been doing ages ago, but for the last two years I haven't been up to much. :(

I'm probably too late for this, but my 2cents: Preparing to paint and cleaning up take waaaaay longer than the actual painting itself. I want to see what it looks like!
