Parents' Night
Oct. 12th, 2005 06:40 amOne of the most dreaded events of every school year is over - Parents' Night. I don't know why I don't like it, I suppose it has something to do with having to be in school till late in the evening, and apart from that I'm afraid of negative feedback (which I never got so far, but still....).
This new class seems to have no dads. I had a class full of Mums, but not one dad found his way to our school. I don't know if this is a typically Austrian thing, it just struck me. One would think that if one's child has started a new school, fathers might take an interest as well as mothers, but apparently they all had something better to do. Among all those parents, I only saw 3 fathers, and their kids were not in my class (and one of them is the head of Parents' Association and had come to introduce the association and what they're doing to those parents who don't know it exists).
Have to go to the neurologist's today. Will have to discuss alternatives to my migraine meds with her. After that, since I've taken the day off, I'll drop in at IKEA. Retail therapy. :)
